Well it’s official!
Doyle Summer 2016
Film Classes! Woooo!
There is a lot of
excitement.
2 of last summer’s
films will screen in film festivals soon.
Trolley is one of
seven films from Greenhill at SxSW.
It's our 8th
year in a row being the most from any school.
Allumette will be
screening at the Texas Union Film Festival at UT.
The Trolley folks
are going down to SxSW this week.
Good times in film.
And now it is time to sign up for this summer.
There will again be two film classes, called Film 1 and Film 2.
Both classes will break into groups and make short narrative films, but the materials can change between each group. We can make stopmotion films, documentary films, comedies, dramas, and whatever the students' minds can create. The mood was exceptional last year. Many students did both classes. One class they made a comedy, live action film and the next week they made a beautiful, dramatic stopmotion film.
The dates for Summer '16 are:
Film 1 - June 6-10 and
Film 2 - June 13-17
There
is one big change. We meet at the
amazing new film room at Greenhill School in the Marshall Performing Arts Center from 9am until 3pm. We are planning to use Greenhill
transportation to take us to production days off campus.
The cost for each class is still $550.
Both classes filled up again last year. Unlike last year you will sign up and pay through the Greenhill Summer site. I don't think that is up yet. To reserve a spot just email me at doylesummerfilm@gmail.com or leave a message on my cell phone at 214-516-3571.
Excitement is already high for this summer from students I have talked to.
This is a blog so just navigate this site to see past years' films and images.
Don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
Go team!
