Links to the Film 2 films.
Many of the films still need work, but here are the current versions:
Starship 1980
Fish Out of Water
Balloon Time
No Brows, No Problem
Scum
Best Served Cold
Potty Problems
A Night at the Opera
We watched the films as they currently are in Rose Hall on the bog screen with big sound.
Some mistakes and incorrect credits.
But a lot of hard work to get these films to this state.
I am very proud of everyone in the class.

Film 2 Day 4
Great day today. Got 2 films done and on Vimeo. Those groups will be making micro-short films tomorrow. Space Pirates are chugging along. They will finish production early tomorrow then edit as much as they can. Mockumentary folks wrapped production and will push hard on editing tomorrow. Balloon folks have editing and color grading to do tomorrow. Friday we will get the films as done as we can by 1:15 or so then export them all and watch them in Rose Hall on the big screen. Big thanks from Lucy's family for bringing cookies for everyone.

Film 2 Day 3
There should be a lot of tired filmmakers today.
Lots and lots of production.
Tomorrow finish productions, edit as much as we can, sound, and anything else we can do to make sure films are done by Friday.
Very much Go team!
Lots of great pictures. Make sure you see them all.

Film 2 Day 1
Excellent day today. Lots of storms but we were indoors for most of it, watching clips and discussing filmmaking, planning stories, and simply brainstorming. I think the five production groups are mostly set. Tomorrow we will finish planning and all preproduction. I want cameras in their hands by the end of the day. The teams are strong. Go team.

Film 2 Starts Tomorrow!
Hello
Everyone,
One last
email before we begin tomorrow.
The class
is from 9am to 3pm Mon-Friday.
You can
drive on Hornet Road, and take a left into the MPAC parking area following the
arrows on the road. Everyone else will
be coming on Spring Valley so this should help us a lot. It will get you right in front of the
Marshall Family Performing Arts Center (MPAC).
My assistant Alex Raphael or I will be there to greet you the first
day. You will walk into the MPAC and up
the main staircase to the film room on your right. It’s pretty easy. If you come late and we are no there just
have your student come up the main staircase, and you should hear us then on
the right. The building is large but
there are really only a few spaces to enter.
If you haven’t seen the new film room, I look forward to showing you.
The basic
set up of the week is as follows:
Monday –
Dream and write.
Tuesday –
Plan shots and start shooting.
Wednesday
– All day production shooting.
Thursday
– Wrap shooting and edit.
Friday –
Finish films and get them online.
It is
exciting to be able to get a film done in five days. To do that we need to do some of the dreaming
now. So I am asking all of the students
to start making lists of two things: characters that they want to see in a film
they make, and the kind of story they want to tell. So maybe you keep thinking about a dapper fellow
in a fancy suit with a cane and clicky shoes. And maybe you are a big fan of
action martial arts films and you want to try to make one of those. That would be a character and a kind of film.
I want each student to make lists of these that are jumping out to them
now. The more specific the better. If you have stories coming together then
bring them, that is great! Please bring
lists of both of these things. Have fun
this week thinking of them. My advanced
film students are always looking out and thinking of things like this.
The only
things the students need to bring are a sack lunch, a water bottle we can
refill, and their lists of characters, kinds of stories, and any stories or
scripts they have. I will supply all of
the filmmaking materials. We should be
indoors most of the day Monday, and maybe all week, using the great space. But we may be outside if their productions
dictate so please dress for muggy/sunny weather with bug spray and sunscreen if
wanted.
If you
have any questions please email me at doylec@greenhill.org or call me at 214-516-3571. I will be posting on the
summer blog - http://doylesummerfilm.blogspot.com/.
Go team!

Film 1 Day 5 Links
The students learned a lot about filmmaking this week.
We had more experienced filmmakers push their aesthetic skills, and new filmmakers learning how to build a story and then produce it. These are just the first versions of the films.
We might have bitten off too much with these film this week, but they all learned a lot in the process, and I look forward to cleaning them up and getting final versions online.
Go team!
