We had 7 of the 22 films from the state at the big SxSW Film Festival in Austin a month ago. They had us all get on stage and be recognized. This was a big deal because we had 7 as well last year. We won it last year. And I don't think any school had more than 1 film in the festival.
The kids were interviewed for Austin Radio Station for month long weekly show about their films.
Then we went to ISAS. They set up 2 screens for us. The small space that everyone else used was full 2 hours before our screening. The other space had almost all of the rest of the ISAS participants in attendance.
The camaraderie of the film kids is amazing. And a lot of it starts in Middle School.
The Summer Classes are filling up but there is still space. The traditional filmmaking class is June 10-14th. The stopmotion film class is June 17-21. Both class are $500 each, and each class goes from 9am to 3pm at our home on White Rock Lake. If you would like to attend, please contact me at doylesummerfilm@gmail.com or at home 214-327-7636 or cell 214-516-3571. I just need a parent to tell me that the child is interested and I will sign them up. This blog contains info from the last 6 years class so page through and see lots of stuff.
