Well it's time to start planning for the summer of 2012. I am very excited. The big news is that for two years in a row we have a film from last summer's camp make it into the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin! This is one of the biggest film festivals in the nation, and we compete against all Texas filmmakers. The Bench will be screening with six other Greenhill films on March 10th. Almost 1/3 of the films from the state came from Greenhill.
Alrighty then. This is a blog, so the newest information is the top post. So you can scroll down the page and click on older posts to see the last few years of the film and painting camps.
This year we are trying something new again. The First session is June 11-15. This will be the traditional filmmaking camp from 9am to 3pm. The Second session is June 18-22. I am very excited about this session. The second session will produce a stopmotion film. We will write a story and record sound the first day. Then we will set up state of the art software and cameras and shoot a stopmotion film over the week. Think Fantastic Mr. Fox or Wallace and Gromit. I think this session has the potential to make a spectacular film. This session will meet from 9am to 3pm as well. All of the camps take place at my home on White Rock Lake. The cost of each session is $500. I will add much more specific information. This is just to help with summer plans.
